Pongo meets Anita who was playing fetch with Perdita. This startled Roger as he found himself being pulled through crowds of people, when Pongo's leash broke, Roger ends up crashing into a lake. As Roger got on the bike, he rushed after Perdita while Roger held his leash. After the pitch was rejected, Pongo witnesses Perdita walk with her owner Anita in the park and is enamored with her as she passes by. Along with wearing a dark collar that is blue like Perdita in the original, as the one in the Live-Action has a red one instead. Pongo is a grown male Dalmatian much like with the original version written by Dodie Smith and the Disney 1961 animated film of Pongo inheriting black spots that are placed a bit more around different area's of the body as opposed to the original. However, there are noticeable changes that this Pongo in Stephen Herek's version that seperates themselves from the original while keeping the sympathetic aspects like from the original. He is based upon the original Pongo in One Hundred And One Dalmatians novel by Dodie Smith and Disney's film adaptation on the 1961 film. One major difference is that he does not speak as he lacks sentience throughout the movie and is able to bark and do little few actions than the original. And he plays a presumably posthumous overarching role as a supporting character in the film’s sequel 102 Dalmatians.
